I found Chris Day through Google as last minute our dog developed Kennel cough 10 days before we were going away. So Kennel’s were a no no.
I rang her number to enquire if she could help and discuss dates.
Well straight off I knew I was talking to someone who knew dogs on a practical scale. Asked if she was available and arranged a meeting with the dog.
All went well and discussed details of staying and caring for our 4 year old Male Cocker.
Chris is refreshingly straight forward and professional very practical and organised.
She is definitely worth what she charges.
We had updates while away which helped with peace of mind.
When she left she washed all her bed linen and towels and hung them up to dry which I found amazingly efficient.
We will certainly be asking her to look after our dog and house again.

What an absolute gem Chris Day is!  Extremely understanding of our needs, accommodating and can’t fault her communication. We really appreciate the little updates on our two dogs whilst we are away. Chris has been house sitting for us for over 12 years. We have had a varying number of dogs (up to six) and half a dozen chickens during that time with different needs and exercise requirements. Her attention to detail is second to none; the needs of each animal in her care is her focus. She provides reassuring updates during her stay and is flexible meeting unexpected delays and/or changes of plan wherever possible. The proof of the pudding is that our dogs all love her.

Chris looked after our house – and menagerie of horses, dogs and cats – for three weeks whilst we were abroad in the Winter of 2016. She was superb. Not only did Chris keep the house immaculate but also the stables, yard and tack room. She cared for the horses, exercised the dogs and kept us posted by email of everything that was going on whilst we were away. The holiday was one we had looked forward to for a long time and we are able to relax and enjoy it in the knowledge that the house and animals were all in not just safe but expert hands. I can’t rate the service Chris provides highly enough. Our animals love her! She is extremely reliable and takes the trouble to get to know your pets and individual requirements before her first stay. Our two dogs have very different needs: one a good long walk and the other, due to old age, a quick game of ball on the field opposite our house. This can be time consuming but Chris, anxious to maintain the dogs’ regular routines, is happy to oblige. She’s a considerate house guest too. (Mindful of how much washing holidays generate, she offered to bring a sleeping bag for a short stay.) Pet care when away used to be a real worry for us – often meaning we couldn’t make family functions – but, happily, this is no longer the case.

When I was let down a week before my holiday, I contacted Sit Stay! Animal Care with little hope but I had a helpful reply straight away. Chris is accommodating and caring and I can’t praise her highly enough. We met up a couple of days later and my dog took to her straight away.
